There are so many sources of information out there telling you to do this, that and the other thing in order to reach our potential clients on Facebook. It can seem impossible to stay on top of it all. And this overwhelm can stop a lot of people in their tracks, making them feel like they’ll never be able to have an effective Facebook presence.
I hear ya! And I’m here to make it WAY simpler for you.
There are 3 tasks you should focus on in order to create a Facebook strategy that is manageable, that doesn’t take a full-time staff member to execute, and that doesn’t leave all the other business-building tasks on your list untouched.
Here we go:
Step 1) Post high-quality content 1x a day
Yup, you heard me. Just once a day!
We’ve all seen the posting schedules that suggest businesses post 8-10x each day in order to gain an engaged following, but we all know that just isn’t possible for everyone.
If you focus on creating high-quality content that adds mega value and posting that awesome content just once a day, you can still make an awesome impact on Facebook.
Think about what your audience is struggling with and cater to their needs with your posts. And don’t forget the 80/20 rule – add value at least 80% of the time, and promo no more than 20%.
Step 2) Create video
Facebook’s algorithms are all about the video. They favour those who post video, meaning that video content is far more likely to get seen than any other kind of post. So, make sure your high-quality posts are getting the views they deserve by delivering your content via video.
You can do this in a few ways:
- Live video – For example, host a regular broadcast at the same time each week. This might be a Q&A session or 10-minute show where you share a useful tip related to your audience’s struggles.
- Pre-recorded video uploaded directly onto Facebook – You might create a series of tip videos, for example. Make sure you’re uploading these directly onto Facebook (as opposed to linking YouTube or any third-party site where you might house your videos) since Facebook’s algorithms favour organic content, which is content hosted right on the platform.
- Sharing third-party videos – This doesn’t work as well with Facebook’s algorithms but can still be a useful part of your posting strategy. Share value-added video from third-party sources like blogs, TEDTalks, experts in your field, etc.
Step 3) Repurpose your awesome content
If you’re trying to save time while still delivering value-packed content on Facebook, you’ve got to learn the art of repurposing. This just means you’re delivering content that you’ve already created in new ways. It saves a ton of time and ensures your audience is seeing the great stuff you’re putting out because we all know that not everyone sees a post the first time you put it out there.
Check out my little guide to repurposing content found in this blog post, 6 Steps to Consistently Posting on Social Media.
Seriously, that’s it. You don’t have to be overwhelmed by Facebook any longer!
If you’re following these 3 steps on a regular basis and ensure your content is exactly what your audience is looking for, you’re set.
Of course, there are always tons of other ways to enhance your Facebook presence even further, but this is a guide to saving a ton of time while still being present and getting engagement.
